Community Land Trust Rental Housing
We are currently working in partnership with Community Land and Finance to develop the CLT Rental Housing fund, which we expect to launch early 2012. The primary aim of the Fund is to facilitate delivery of grant-free affordable rental housing by providing development capital and medium term finance to Community Land Trusts or other community-led organisations.
There are a growing number of communities wishing to develop, own and manage their own community housing in order to address the issue of people being unable to afford to rent or buy in their local area. However current loan finance funds typically only provide around 60-80% of required development capital and so community groups struggle to finance new build developments. The Fund will overcome this by providing up to 100% of capital required.
